Morris County St Patrick's Day Parade

The Association organized the first Morris County St. Patrick's Day Parade in Wharton in 1979. It outgrew Wharton and in 1990 was moved to Morristown where the Association, along with the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick organize the parade.

2016 Morris County St. Patrick’s Parade Grand Marshal - John Hyland

Congratulation to John Hyland and his Family

John Hyland was selected as the 2015 Grand Marshal of the Morris County St. Patrick’s Parade. Unfortunately, he had to withdraw due to his battle with blood cancer and blood marrow cancer. Now, after a successful bone marrow transplant, he is ready to lead us down South Street as our 2016 Morris County St. Patrick’s Parade Grand Marshal. Marching with John will be his wife Kristin and three children, Kieran, Patric and Kelsey.

John is a long-time supporter of the Morris County St. Patrick’s Day Parade and has been on the Trustee Board and Finance committee for many years. His mother, Kathleen Ginty Hyland was the 1998 Grand Marshal.

John has raised over a million dollars for cancer research since he was diagnosed in 2010 with acute Leukemia. He works hard raising funds as well serving on the board for a number of non-profit organizations including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Mayo Performing Arts Center, Invest in Others Foundation, and the Morris County School of Technology Board of Education.

...and then after the parade - more fun to come!

Immediately following the Morristown St. Patrick's Day Parade the Association holds a celebration at the Clubhouse.

The day is filled with live music, song and dance; as well as corned beef sandwiches, drink and wonderful desserts. The day is such a success that tickets must be purchased before hand.
